Rio Hondo
Muscat
Rio Hondo, Spanish for deep river, is a stream in Natchitoches Parish, LA marking the Spanish eastern border of the Free State of Sabine turning southward along the Calcasieu River.
Our Rio Hondo is a spicy, exotic version of Sauvignon Blanc offering light bright citrus notes of lemon, lime, and grapefruit, mellowed by juicy nectarine, sweet baked apple, and nutmeg flavors of Muscat Giallo. Light body, bright acidity, and very perfumed, with distinctive Grüner Veltliner notes of spice and white pepper.
This wine's bright acidity and appealing spicy quality pair it very well with all types of food. With its rich flavors and hints of citrus, we think it best to match spicy cuisine, chocolate, dried fruits, nuts, and a wide variety of both hard and soft cheese.
